I have friends who - both 35ish, their 2-story, 4-bedroom & 3.5 bath house is entirely paid off. In addition, they have money in the bank.
And, are these people both doctors? No.
Actually, only one of them works, the husband, and the wife stays home.
Part of this is proof of the strong Canadian economy (it took a nosedive about five years, but that's another issue, lol), but also *obviously* I give credit to these two individuals who got into the housing market early, paid off their townhouse, upgraded to a bigger house (they got an amazing deal, because the sellers were getting divorced and *had to sell* to divide their assets.)
anyhoo, part of it was luck, and part of it was strategy.
The live, but they don't buy luxury stuff. E.g., she has a nice engagement ring, she doesn't even really wear it; it lives in a safe somewhere. Lol. They're just really smart about their purchases.
Plus, most of her friends are pretty humble people, she would never flaunt her wealth.
